About this work

In the foreground some hunters in a forest. In the branches of the trees sit monkeys. The hunters wash their faces with water. Then they leave the water bowls. In the background the monkeys try to imitate the hunters and wash themselves. The hunters have however mixed this water with birdlime, so that the monkeys become blind and helpless after washing. The hunters come back and beat the monkeys to death with clubs. The print has a Latin inscription and is part of a series on hunting scenes.
