About this work
Wilhelm II of Germany and his son stand in a trench. On the horizon the Saint Basil's Cathedral in Moscow. In the sky, rays of light surround the words freedom, revolution, and democracy. Below the image the inscription: 'Wilhelm: (to Wilhelm Sohn): - Those lights, Willie, might be worse for our generation than all Russian artillery.'
