Allegorical tomb monument for Hendrik Danielsz. Hooft, former burgomaster of Amsterdam, died on 31 August 1794. The city maiden of Amsterdam mourning at the grave is consoled by an angel who points to the 'Immortalitas' acquired by Hooft in heaven.
