About this work
Plundering of the house of tax farmer A.M. van Arssen on the Singel in Amsterdam, on 24 or 25 June 1748 during the Tax Farmers' Riot. Household goods are thrown into the street and the canal. The plunderers indulge in the wine stored in the cellars; the wine is also dumped into the canal.
