View of the village of Scheveningen before it was struck by a storm surge on All Saints' Day, 1 November 1570. Here 128 houses were destroyed and three persons drowned. In the foreground the sea and the beach. Behind it the village, situated between the dunes, with the church in the center. In the background The Hague. With a four-line inscription in Dutch.
