About this work
The extinguished fire in the soap-boiling works De Bruinvis at the end of the Looiersgracht in Amsterdam, on 18 April 1682. Clouds of steam rise from the building, caused by the extinguishing. At the bottom, a plan showing the placement of the pumps and hoses. A later state (third known) is plate 12 in the Fire Engine Book by Jan van der Heyden.
