About this work

The Jewish maiden is besieged by three soldiers. In the background the destruction of Rome. On the left in the foreground two putti, one with the Turkish crescent in his hand, representing the rise and fall of the world empires (the Parthian, Persian and Syrian Empires). In the frame of the cartouche medallions with biblical scenes.
