About this work
Behind a coat of arms of Castricum stands the personification of poetry. To the right Ignorance and Envy with torch and firewood try to prevent her from sitting on the throne. To the left stand Thaleia and Melpomene, the muses of comedy and tragedy. In the foreground sit two satyrs.
