The inauguration of Cornelis de Bruyn as a new member of the Bentvueghels, the group of Dutch artists in Rome, on 22 December 1674. In the foreground De Bruyn is received by a seated man with a laurel wreath on his head. Behind him stand men and figures with artist attributes around a statue of Bacchus.
