About this work

A woman with an empty poem sheet in her hands sits by a box with writing materials. With two poems. Panel of a five-panel screen, on which standing or sitting figures are depicted, under cherry blossoms and against a curtain with along the bottom, the emblem of the Nogawa poets' society. When the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, people still picnic under the trees in Japan today. This is often accompanied by music and drink.
