About this work

On either side of the mantel, on the plate, sits a bound warrior with weapons and standards. From a series consisting of a title page and 66 leaves with mantelpieces, decorated with columns, herm figures, cartouches, garlands, and mascarons. All mantelpieces are equipped with fire irons.
