About this work
Square cartouche in a frame of scrollwork with garlands of fruit. The four corners are decorated with mascarons in the form of lion heads, which hold the ends of two garlands of fruit in their mouths. From a series of 32 sheets. The cartouches are partly borrowed from the prints of Antonio Fantuzzi after the decoration of the Gallery of François I by Giovanni Battista Rosso. The series is also known under the title Petits cartouches de Fontainebleau.
