About this work
Marie-Antoinette had arranged for the gentlemen Bellegarde and Moustiers, who had been wrongly imprisoned, to be released. Madame de Bellegarde thanks the queen with a curtsy. The company is fashionably dressed. The ladies wear the 'robe à la Polonaise'.
