About this work

Death, as a skeleton with scythe and crown, together with the three Fates (Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos) on a triumphal wagon that is pulled by two oxen. Behind the wagon lie the bodies of deceased historical figures, among them Cleopatra, Alexander the Great, Hannibal and Scipio Africanus. Inscription in Latin in the lower margin.
