About this work

The actor Bandô Mitsugorô III (1775-1832) in the role of Shigetada, a vassal of Yoritomo. He stands before the entrance of the Tôdaiji temple in Nara, an incident that took place in 1195. This print is the right panel of a diptych. With one poem.
