About this work
In the background Gideon and his men blow their trumpets around the camp of the Midianites. In their hand they hold an empty water jar with a burning torch inside, which they later throw on the ground. In the front the Midianites fight each other. In the background to the left the tent camp by moonlight. In the margin a one-line inscription in Latin.
