About this work
In the foreground two figures bring a fishing net from a boat onto land. On the shore stands a man with two fishing rods in his hand. Next to him sit two women. In the background other fishing figures and buildings. In the lower margin three verses from Voltaire's poem 'Le Mondain' (1736).
