About this work
This artist is in the next phase of his training. In his workshop, he draws a live female nude holding a large palm branch. What Rembrandt was trying to express here and why the etching is unfinished are questions that have preoccupied many a researcher. Nowadays, the print is thought to be an ode to drawing.
