About this work
St. Christopher wades through a river with the help of a staff. On his back, he carries the Christ Child, who sits on a globe with a cross and a banner. On the bank, a hermit stands with a lantern under a tree hut. On the opposite riverbank, a settlement is visible. In the margin, the name of the painter and a six-line inscription in Latin.
