About this work

On the left, a man and a woman sit at a table playing checkers; a man joins them at the table. On the right, two men and a woman sit at a table, the two men playing tokadille. Between the two tables stand two men, the foremost reading a letter while smoking. On the right, a woman stands with tableware. Behind them, a rocaille ornament with a view-through to a park. In the foreground, a rocaille frame with a vase and floral motifs. In the lower margin a German text.
