About this work
In the foreground David kneels before Jonathan, because Jonathan has kept his promise. In the background Jonathan shoots arrows toward the cave where David hides. A young servant picks up the arrows. Through this action David knows that Saul wants to kill him. In the lower margin twice a four-line German and Latin text.
