View of the Louvre in Paris circa 1650. In the foreground the Seine with activity of workers, fishermen and washerwomen. Freight boats are loaded with hay. On the opposite bank on the shore of the river the old Louvre. Meryon based himself for this old situation on a painting by Reinier Nooms.
