About this work

Two weeping angels hold up the sudarium (Veil of Veronica) with the face of Christ. Below kneels an angel. On either side of this angel lie the instruments of the Passion. In the background the three crosses and the tomb of Christ. Below the angel a one-line Latin inscription from Isaiah 53.
