About this work

The prophet Jeremiah is beaten at the temple entrance by the priest Pashhur. His henchmen put the prophet in chains and throw him into the dungeon. In the background Jeremiah preaches to a crowd in the temple. The print has a Latin inscription with explanation from the Old Testament and is the eighth print of an eleven-print series.
