About this work

The Holy Dominic wears the habit of his order. In his hand a book and a flag with Mary in a rosary. On his forehead a star. Dominic tramples the heresies of the Albigensians. Next to him his attribute: a dog with a burning torch in its mouth ('Domini Canis'). In the upper left corner the vision of Christ with three arrows, the virtues of the Dominican order: obedience, poverty and chastity. In the background a passing army. The print has a Latin inscription.
