About this work

Saturnus as the personification of Time stands on his triumphal chariot drawn by horses. He devours his children and sits on an hourglass standing before a globe with the signs of the zodiac. Behind him rides the personification of Death on horseback. Behind that Victory riding an elephant. On the ground lie musical instruments, a book, hats, a money chest and a money purse. In the tree hangs a clock. On the left in the background a burning city. Below the image three two-line verses in Latin.
