About this work

Mercury, the messenger of the gods, flies in with a trumpet in his hand. Putti carry the skin of the Nemean lion conquered by Hercules. Along the edges instructions for mounting the print to other prints. Print is part of a series of prints that together represent the painted ceiling with the Apotheosis of Hercules in the Hôtel Lambert in Paris. This print is part of an album.
