About this work
A courtesan, dressed in a kimono with a plum blossom pattern, holding a ewer in her hand, preparing a meal for her guest. His kimono hangs over a rack in the background. The lining of the kimono shows an image of blooming plum branches and a poem referring to the clandestine outing of this man (loosely translated: "I am just going to look at the blooming plum blossoms this evening and will be back soon", so what is that strong scent on his sleeves?). With five poems.
