About this work

Ixion tried to seduce Juno, the wife of Jupiter. As punishment, Jupiter modeled her likeness out of clouds. The drunken Ixion here embraces a cloud in the guise of Juno. Amor throws a cloth around Juno. Below a four-line verse in Italian. The image is framed in an ornamental border with putti and female satyrs.
