About this work
King Josiah orders the temple of Baal to be destroyed and the Baal priests to be killed. All objects made in honor of the idol are burned outside the city. The fire can be seen in the background on the right. Below the depiction a reference in Latin to the biblical text in 2 Kings 23:4. This print is part of an album.
