About this work
The blind guide is about to step into a ditch and takes his equally blind followers with him. The guide has a spinning wheel under his cloak. In the background a village can be seen. The image is an illustration of the proverb and the parable: if one blind man leads another, they both fall into a pit. Which means: when incompetent people advise other incompetent people, it goes wrong. Below the image an explanation in French and Dutch and a reference to the biblical text in Matt. 15:14. This print is part of an album.
