About this work

Left: Patriarch Levi, the third son of Jacob, in armor. In the background the siege of the city of Shechem, which Levi together with Simeon destroyed as revenge for the dishonor of their sister Dinah. Right: Patriarch Judah, the fourth son of Jacob, in armor. Beside him a lion, a reference to the comparison his father Jacob made between Judah and a lion. Below the representations a reference in Latin to the Biblical text. This print is part of an album.
