About this work
By the water lie overgrown ruins, perhaps the Porta Furba. To the left, a gate. To the left in the foreground, a road with a donkey rider and a pedestrian. Print forming part of a series of Roman ruins and coastal landscapes after prints by Willem van Nieulandt. This series is a copy of the series made by Claes Jansz Visscher after Van Nieulandt.
