About this work

Temporary wooden footbridge on the site of Pont-au-Change over the Seine in Paris after the fire of 1621. Meryon derived this representation from a drawing by Stefano della Bella. He went so far as to also take over some collector's marks on the drawing, on the bottom left a mark is still visible and another mark on the bottom right was removed after the fifth state.
