About this work

The personification of early Christianity with a burning heart, a scroll, and her feet on the symbols of worldly power and wealth (a crowned globe with a money bag) is laurelled by two angels. Sitting with her are Faith with a cross on her head, Hope with an anchor, and Charity with two children on her lap. In front of them lies a chained figure. In the background, a satyr, a woman with a cross and net, and a man with a torch and animal skin.
