About this work
A woman (possibly Piety) with flame on her head, torch and book in hand stands to the right of a portrait medallion of writer Joachim Feller. To the left sits an old woman with the Ouroboros snake in her hand. Above the portrait Fama blows on her trumpet from which a text comes: Vivat post funera virtus. Above the text a crown in a radiant halo. At the bottom a ten-line German and three-line Latin text.
