Allegory on the elevation of William IV to hereditary stadtholder and on the Liberal Gift

In the center, Peace and Justice sit on a throne on a pedestal. In front of the pedestal stands a money chest, and jewelry and vases lie nearby. The objects indicate the Liberal Gift of the fiftieth penny requested in 1747 to support the country at war. Above the two women, the text Monent monetae date. Around the frame, eight cartouches: at the bottom, the coat of arms of Zeeland with the motto Luctor et emergo; at the top, an armored figure (possibly Minerva) receives a fasces from an angel; on either side, three cartouches referring to the elevation of William IV. At the bottom, the inscription Felix congressio quâ pax se themidi jungat.
