A group of poets and writers attempt to tame Pegasus. In the background, poets and writers try to climb Parnassus. The scene is enclosed in an ornamental frame decorated with leafy vines, scrollwork, sphinxes, dragons, spiderwebs, books, a shell, and a mask.
