King Xerxes of Persia standing with a hand on a pickaxe. In the background, it can be seen how the men of Xerxes whip the Hellespont. They did this on the orders of Xerxes after the built bridges over the Hellespont were destroyed by storm and water. Above the image a three-line text in Latin.
