About this work

The high priest Jehoiada pours anointing oil over the head of Joash and proclaims him king. Onlookers blow trumpets and play the harp. Between the soldiers on the right, Queen Athaliah watches as she tears her clothes. On the right in the background, Queen Athaliah is killed. At the bottom of the margin, a verse in Latin and a reference to the biblical text in 2 Kings 11:12. This print is part of an album.
