About this work
Illustration of the fifth article of faith (Christ, who descended into hell; on the third day rose again from the dead) of the Apostles' Creed. After his death, Christ descends into Limbo. He has broken the gates of hell and extends his hand to Old Testament saints. Adam and Eve stand beside him. On the background right is the Resurrection of Christ. This print is part of an album.
