About this work

The personification of Liberality (Liberalitas) sits on a stone and gives money to a beggar. She stands with her foot on the personification of Avarice (Avaritia), who lies on the ground before her with a money chest under her arm and a stick purse. The print has a Latin caption and is part of a series on virtues and vices.
