About this work

The personification of Chastity stands in a landscape with a rudder and whip in her hand. At her feet lies a unicorn, the symbol of virginity. In the background the Annunciation to Mary by the angel Gabriel. On the right a stork, which symbolizes resisting temptation. Below the image a four-line verse in Latin. This print is part of an album.
