About this work
Two oval medallions surrounded by acanthus vines, fruit, and shell motifs. In the upper medallion sits Jupiter with thunderbolts and an eagle on clouds, to his left stands a woman. In the lower medallion Europa sits on the back of Jupiter in the form of a bull, pulled by a putto.
