About this work
A ladder of old age: a marriage ladder. On the steps of the ladder, in the form of a bridge, stand men and women aged 0 to 100 years. Below the bridge a scene of the Last Judgment. Front left a putto and front right Death. On both sides of the scene a tree. Below the scene a sixteen-line verse in four columns. Numbered bottom right: No. 37.
