About this work

Satirical print in which William Pitt the Younger is Don Quixote, with Frederick William II, King of Prussia, and Holland as Sancho Panza, sitting on a lean horse that frightens Catherine the Great. She wears a crescent moon in her hair, a reference to her recent conquests in Turkey. The Sultan of Turkey, Selim III, kisses the horse's tail. Catherine is received by Emperor Leopold II and a Frenchman.
