About this work

Tomb of Molière on four columns seen from the side. On top stands an urn from which flames rise. Behind the tomb a setting sun is depicted as a sign of the ended life. Two olive branches form a wreath around the tomb. Under the monument a reference to the city of Paris is recognizable in the form of a galley with oars.
