About this work

The severed head and hand of Nicanor are shown to the people in Jerusalem. Nicanor wanted to exterminate Israel, but the Israelites defeated him and his army. Under the depiction a reference in Latin to the Biblical text in 1 Macc. 7:27. This print is part of an album.
