About this work

In the temple, various Pharisees bring a woman caught in adultery to Christ. The Pharisees ask what Christ thinks of the law of Moses, which states that such women should be stoned. Christ writes with his finger on the ground and then says that whoever is without sin should cast the first stone. Below the image, a Latin reference to the biblical text. This print is part of an album.
