King Xerxes of Persia standing with a hand on a pickaxe. In the background, the men of Xerxes whip the Hellespont. They did this on Xerxes' orders after the bridges built over the Hellespont were destroyed by storm and water. Above the image a three-line text in Latin. This print is part of an album.
